Speak up!Phone or visit a government official and let them know what you think. Your local MLA is the best place to start. You can also Write a letter to government officials. Get InvolvedJoin one of the member groups of the Public Lands Coalition and volunteer to help them achieve their local or provincial goals. If you are a member of a community group which might support the aims of the Public Lands Coalition, then ask them to join the coalition. łIf youčre interested in seeing forestry practices improved in Nova Scotia, get involved in the Standing Tall campaign for environmentally responsible forestry. Form a group of your ownIf there is a local piece of Public Land that you would like to see protected, you can form a group of your own to champion the cause. Reach out to your fellow citizens and find out if there is support for this initiative from others in your community. Download and Circulate the Public Lands PetitionThe NSPLC is currently conducting a petition campaign in support of more and better protection for our public lands. Add your name to the list by downloading a copy PDF format. Circulate copies among your group, class or friends, and then send your completed petition sheets into the Ecology Action Centre for collection. Remember, every name counts.
