IRM: Strategic Plan

IRM Strategic Plan

These maps shows land use category allocations for Nova Scotia's proposed "Integrated Resource Management" land use plan for Crown lands. Category 1 and 2 lands are open for industrial development, while Category 3 lands are protected. Nearly all lands tagged as Category 3 on the map above are already protected under legislation. The plan recommends that less than 1% of Crown lands not currently under protection areas legislation be off limits to development, despite many government commitments to protect more land.

Map Legend

Dark Green - Category 1 lands (C1)
Light Green - Category 2 lands (C2)
Red - Category 3 lands (C3)
